Amazon Targets Delivery Operations in Bid for Bigger Grocery Business

Amazon is testing new grocery formats that blend its broad assortment of online goods with in-person shopping. Amazon’s new designs aim to pull together various fulfillment networks for its Whole Foods Market premium grocery business and its mass-market Amazon Fresh stores into a common delivery platform, giving the grocery businesses greater scale with online customers as rivals invest more in using their larger number of stores as distribution hubs. Einride, PepsiCo Partner on Memphis Electric Freight Operations

Einride has announced a partnership with PepsiCo, to operate a fleet of Einride connected electric trucks in Memphis, Tennessee, and make use of the company’s charging infrastructure and digital freight platform. According to the partners, the goal is to reduce PepsiCo’s Scope 3 emissions, while supporting Frito-Lay food distribution by electrifying some routes in the Memphis region. The fleet is projected to transport over 2,500 loads annually, covering nearly 200,000 miles. Read more.

Walmart Adds 400 Electric Vans to its Delivery Fleet
