Amazon Deploys More Than 20,000 Electric Delivery Vans in the U.S.
Amazon began rolling out Rivian electric delivery vans in the U.S. in the summer of 2022 and now has more than 20,000 making deliveries, with a commitment to having 100,000 on the road by 2030. In 2024, Amazon’s vans from Rivian delivered more than 1 billion packages to customers in the U.S. Amazon has installed more than 24,000 chargers at more than 150 delivery stations across the U.S. The company has also brought the custom vans to Europe, joining a fleet of thousands of electric vans already in operation. Tractor Supply Plans Big Last-Mile Delivery Upgrade
Tractor Supply Co. has unveiled a multi-year initiative to make more last-mile deliveries in-house. Tractor Supply aims to set up “hub stores” that bring drivers and inventory from different facilities together for customer deliveries. In 2025, Tractor Supply’s delivery goals include establishing its final-mile team, selecting routing and scheduling technology for its drivers, and expanding delivery coverage out of test markets. Best Buy is expanding and upgrading its distribution center footprint to drive improved order accuracy and faster shipping, according to a company announcement. This fall, the retailer began implementing autonomous guided vehicles in a retail distribution center in Nichols, New York, and opened its 20th delivery distribution center in Lancaster, Texas.
